Courage Borrowed from God
Some people are naturally bold, they walk into rooms with confidence, speak up without hesitation, take risks without overthinking. But the boldness God calls us to is different. It's not about personality or natural confidence. It's about moving forward in faith even when you're afraid, standing firm even when you're unsure, trusting that God's presence is enough.
God told Joshua to be strong and courageous not once, but three times in rapid succession (verses six and seven). Why the repetition? Because Joshua was about to lead an entire nation into unknown territory, facing enemies and obstacles he couldn't predict. He needed the reminder: your courage doesn't come from your ability, it comes from My presence.
The same is true for you. Whatever you're facing today, the hard conversation, the uncertain decision, the risk you need to take, the stand you need to make, you don't have to muster courage from some hidden reserve of strength you're not sure you have. You just have to remember who's with you.
Boldness in God's kingdom isn't the absence of fear. It's taking the step anyway because you know you're not stepping alone. It's speaking the truth even though your voice shakes. It's doing the hard thing even though you don't feel ready. It's moving forward not because the path is clear, but because God has gone before you.
Today, you don't have to be brave on your own. You just have to be willing. God will supply the courage. He'll be your strength when yours runs out. And His presence will make you bold in ways you never could be by yourself.

Prayer
Lord, help me be bold and strong, not in my own power but in the confidence that comes from knowing You are with me.
Fear whispers that I'm alone, that I'm not capable, that I should shrink back, but Your presence changes everything, making me brave when I would otherwise be timid.
Teach me that boldness isn't the absence of fear but choosing to act despite it, trusting that You go before me, stand beside me, and work through me.
You are with me in every challenge I face, every difficult conversation, every step of faith, every moment when courage is required and I feel like I have none.
Help me remember that I can be strong because my strength doesn't come from within but from You, the God who fights for me and never leaves my side.
Remind me of Your promise that You will never leave me or forsake me, that wherever I go, whatever I face, I am not alone because You are always with me.
Give me boldness to speak truth when it's uncomfortable, to stand firm when pressure mounts, to take risks in obedience, knowing that You are my confidence and my strength.
Let me walk through today with my head held high, bold and strong, not because I have it all figured out but because the Lord my God is with me, and that is enough.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
