My story isn’t over

Today’s Verse

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:6

Still Being Written

You’re not a finished product. You’re a work in progress. And the Author of your story hasn’t put down His pen.
It’s easy to look at where you are and assume this is all there is, that the failures define you, that the setbacks are final, that the closed doors mean the end.

But God doesn’t write stories the way we do. He includes plot twists we never saw coming. He redeems chapters we thought were wasted. He turns page after page long after we assumed the story was over.

The truth is, you’re living in the middle of the book, not at the end. And middle chapters are messy. They’re full of tension and uncertainty and moments where you can’t see how things will possibly resolve. But that’s exactly where transformation happens. That’s where character develops. That’s where the best part of the story is being set up.

Today, whatever makes you feel like you’ve reached the end, whether it’s regret, disappointment, or just sheer exhaustion, remember this: God isn’t finished. He’s still shaping you, still refining you, still preparing you for what’s ahead. Your story isn’t over. There are pages yet to be written, and the God who holds the pen is faithful to finish what He started.

Today’s Prayer

Lord, I cling to the truth that my story isn’t over, that You’re still writing, still working, still weaving purpose into every chapter of my life.

Right now it feels like I’ve reached a dead end, like too much has gone wrong, like the best parts are behind me and there’s nothing good left to come.

Teach me to see my life through Your eyes, to understand that what looks like an ending to me might just be a turning point, a transition into something new You’re preparing.

I confess I’ve been tempted to give up, to believe the lie that I’ve missed my chance, that I’ve made too many mistakes, that it’s too late for things to change.

Help me remember that You are the God of new beginnings, that You specialize in resurrection and redemption, that You can take what’s broken and make it beautiful again.

Remind me that as long as I have breath in my lungs, You have purpose for my days, that You’re not done with me yet, that there are still chapters to be written and plans You want to unfold.

Give me the patience to trust Your timing, the faith to believe that better is still ahead, the courage to keep showing up even when I can’t see what comes next.

Let me live with expectation instead of resignation, with hope instead of defeat, knowing that You who began a good work in me will be faithful to complete it.

In Jesus’

Amen.
