Show Me Which Way To Go
When you're standing at a crossroads, multiple paths ahead, each one looking possible, the natural prayer is "Lord, show me which way to go." But how do you actually recognize His answer when it comes?
Is it peace? But peace doesn't always mean right. Is it open doors? Circumstances can align for the wrong path. Is it wisdom from others? People give conflicting advice. Is it a feeling? Feelings change.
We wish it were more straightforward. A burning bush. An audible voice. A neon sign saying "THIS WAY." But usually, it's more subtle. And we have to learn to recognize God's leading even when it doesn't come with dramatic clarity.
Sometimes it's peace, not the absence of nerves, but deep settled confidence underneath anxiety. Sometimes it's wisdom through Scripture, trusted people, or circumstances aligning in ways you couldn't orchestrate. Sometimes it's the sense of "this is right" that you can't fully explain but can't ignore.
And sometimes, it's realizing you've been asking God to confirm what you already want instead of genuinely asking what He wants. Distinguishing between God's voice and your own preferences is harder than we admit.
God promises, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you." If you genuinely submit your decision to Him, He will make the path clear. Not necessarily immediately. Not always how you expect. But He will.
Today, if you're at a crossroads, keep asking. Seek His wisdom. Listen for His leading. And trust that He won't leave you directionless.

Prayer
Lord, show me which way to go, because I'm standing at a crossroads with multiple paths ahead and I don't know which one You want me to take.
Each option looks possible, each has merit, but I can't see which one aligns with Your will, which one leads where You want me, which one is the right choice.
Teach me to wait for Your direction instead of rushing ahead in confusion, to seek Your guidance before making decisions, to trust that You will make the path clear when I need to know.
I'm asking for Your wisdom, trusting that You'll guide me in the way I should go, believing You care about my decisions and won't leave me directionless.
Help me recognize Your leading when it comes, to distinguish Your voice from my own preferences, to know when You're pointing me toward something even if it's unexpected.
Remind me that You promise to guide those who ask, that You don't hide Your will from people genuinely seeking it, that showing me which way to go is something You want to do.
Give me patience to wait for clarity, wisdom to discern Your direction, courage to follow when You show me even if it's not the path I would have chosen.
Let me hear clearly today, Lord, show me which way to go, and when You do, give me faith to walk it confidently.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
