My steps are ordered by the Lord

Psalm 37:23·KJV Translation

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.

One Step At A Time

We want the whole map. We want to see the entire route laid out before we take the first step. We want guarantees, certainty, a detailed itinerary of exactly how things will unfold. But that's not how God typically leads.

He gives us enough light for the next step. Not the next ten. Just one. And He asks us to trust that He's already been where we're going, that He knows what's around the corner even when we don't, that His ordering is better than our planning.

Ordered steps don't mean easy steps. They don't mean you'll always understand why you're where you are. But they do mean this: you're not wandering aimlessly. Even when the path twists, even when it doesn't look like what you expected, even when you have to backtrack or reroute, God is ordering it. He's working in it. He's using it.

Today, you don't have to have your whole life figured out. You don't have to know how everything will work out. You just have to take the next step He's put in front of you and trust that He's already prepared the one after that. Your job isn't to see the whole staircase, it's to trust the One who built it.

Lord, my steps are ordered by You, directed by Your wisdom, guided by Your hand, each one known and planned before I take it.

Ordered means arranged, orchestrated, not random or chaotic but intentionally placed by the God who sees where I'm going and knows what I need.

Teach me to trust that every step I take is under Your direction, that even when the path seems unclear, You're ordering my steps toward purposes I don't yet see.

My steps being ordered by You doesn't mean I don't choose or act, but that my choices are woven into Your greater plan, that You guide the willing heart.

Help me walk with confidence knowing You're directing each step, that I'm not wandering aimlessly but following a path You've prepared, even when I can't see what's ahead.

Remind me that ordered steps don't mean easy steps, that You sometimes order me through difficult terrain, but every step serves a purpose in Your plan.

Give me peace about where I'm going, trust in how You're leading, faith that each step ordered by You is taking me exactly where I need to be.

Let me walk today knowing my steps are ordered by the Lord, trusting Your direction, following Your lead, confident that where You guide is where I'm meant to go.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
